1. What is the BBALLIN Challenge Ladder?
The BBALLIN Challenge Ladder was developed for both 1-on-1 and 3-on-3 basketball. As you play your opponents, your relative position on the ladder (the rungs) is adjusted to reflect the results of your games, your opponent's record and how often you play. You can play whenever, wherever, and with whom you wish and you can join the ladder at any time. The BBALLIN Challenge Ladder is run and administered entirely over the Web. You can enter results, review ladder standings, learn the previous game results of your opponents and read their player profiles at any time.

2. Why should I join the BBALLIN Challenge Ladder?
The BBALLIN Challenge Ladder is the most flexible form of basketball competition available. You play whenever, wherever, and with whom you wish. You determine how often you play. Playing the BBALLIN Ladder is a fantastic way to meet more basketball players in your area, play more hoops and develop your game. Compete for local, regional and national rankings and see if you can get to the Top of the BBALLIN Challenge Ladder.

3. How much does it cost to play?
  It's totally FREE.

4. When does the Ladder start?
You may join the ladder at any time as the Ladder is running continuously throughout the year. You may also pause your membership for 45 days throughout the year without the fear of dropping in the rankings.

5. How do I move up the rankings?
You are placed at the bottom of the ladder ranking when they sign-up. You may challenge anyone on the ladder. Players or Teams move up a maximum number of 3 positions if they win their challenge. Challengers take the rank of the defender if they win their challenge and if the defender was within the maximum number of 3 positions or less above them. If you are challenged and lose, you move down one spot. No ranking change occurs if a challenge was unsuccessful.

6. How do I challenge an opponent?

  • You may challenge anyone on the ladder from your Home Court.

  • Your opponent will receive the challenge via an email through our system.

  • Challenged players must accept or reject the challenge from their Home Court AND email their opponent with their preferred time and location.

  • If you do not hear from your opponent after a challenge, please contact them from your Home Court and remind them to accept the challenge.

  • The challenged player must accept/reject the challenge from their Home Court AND respond to the challenger via email within 1 week. Failure to reply will result in an automatic 2 position rankings drop penalty.

  • Challenger attempts to play at the higher-ranking player's location.

7. What do I do when I am challenged?
When you are challenged you will receive an email from your opponent through our system. You will then respond to the email with your preferred time and location of play AND login to your Home Court to accept or reject the challenge. Failure to accept or reject the challenge in the system will result in an automatic 2 position rankings drop penalty.

8. What is the 2-week Rule?
It is to your benefit to play games within the two-week periods. At the end of every two-week period, players/teams that have played a game are moved up the ladder until they bump into another player/team that has played a game. Then the player/team that was bumped into is moved up the ladder until that player/team bumps into another player/team that has played a game. You can move up the ladder very quickly simply by playing games regardless of whether you win or lose. After players/teams are moved up the ladder, the same process is used to move players/teams that have not played down the ladder. Therefore, if you have not played a game during the two-week time period, you will be moved down the ladder an unlimited number of positions until you bump into someone else that has not played. Then that person/team will be moved down until they bump into someone else who has not played.

9. What is Holiday Status and can I pause my membership?
You may turn your Holiday Status on for a total of 45 days per year. When your holiday status is on, opponents cannot contact you for games and you will not lose your spot in the Ladder rankings.

10. How often and where do we play?
You may play as often as you like, and you and your opponents choose the location of your games. Challenger attempts to play at the higher-ranking player's chosen location within the local location of the Ladder. Popular game locations include public parks and schools where you can fit your own game in.

11. Who brings the balls?
Both players/teams should bring balls to the game. The higher-ranking player/team has the ultimate choice of the ball used in the game.

12. What happens if my scheduled game is canceled?
Please re-schedule your game at a time that works for both players/teams. If both of you cannot agree on another time, simply cancel the match from your Home Court and no ranking change will occur.

13. How do create a profile?
Your profile is created when you register for the league. You may edit your profile and add a picture at any time by hitting the "edit profile" link on the menu bar.

14. What happens when I select the wrong winner for a game?
If you accidentally select the wrong winner for a game, please click the "Reset Winner" button and a confirmation email will be sent to your opponent. When your opponent also clicks the "Reset Winner" button, the game will be reset so you can then select the correct winner.
